LOGTECH Expo 2022 was held on 28 & 29 November at HKPC Building to help local logistics SMEs keep abreast of the latest technological trends in the industry and make the best use of the Government's funding support of up to HK$1 million for business upgrading and transformation. In addition to the logistics technology showcase and on-site support for government funding applications, expert speakers discussed with participants how to make the best use of government funding and the application of logistics technology to enhance efficiency and productivity. ClusterTech exhibited and showcased the High Resolution Numerical Weather Prediction for Shipping and Logistics at LOGTECH Expo.

In the pitching session, ClusterTech's meteorological expert demonstrated the high resolution numerical weather prediction solution and how it can benefit shipping and logistics. ClusterTech’s High Resolution Numerical Weather Prediction Solution for Shipping and Logistics utilises the unique and latest weather prediction model CPAS. CPAS is a cloud-based service platform that implements customised mesh generation and hierarchical time-stepping on Model for Prediction Across Scales - Atmosphere (MPAS-A (v6.1)) to better serve the computational needs of numerical atmospheric model users. The model can provide higher resolution and more accurate data for routes with specific risks, helping shipping companies save costs and avoid casualty loss.

The ClusterTech team provided in-depth demonstrations and shared their hands-on project experience with the guided tour group. The group showed great interest and proclaimed that CPAS was “very interesting and innovative”.
Since 2003, ClusterTech’s meteorological team has been providing air quality forecasting and meteorological modelling services to clients. Over the past 15 years, ClusterTech has been a trusted partner of government departments and organisations, and worked with the Hong Kong Observatory, the Environmental Protection Department and meteorological organisations in Mainland China. In the future, ClusterTech will continue to develop more products and solutions for the maritime, air freight, logistics, and supply chain management sectors.
