1. CASE STUDIES
CPAS provides a computationally efficient way to gain the benefits of increased model resolution and seamless information transfer between global and regional meshes. Examples include:
- carrying out dynamical downscaling model simulations from climate change projections;
- serving as a tool to provide better understanding weather events such as extreme monsoon rainfall, diurnal precipitation driven by land-sea breeze and synoptic flow and weather phenomena associated with complex terrain like orographic precipitation and foehn wind; and
- performing renewable energy potential evaluations.
2. LONG-TERM EXPERIMENTS
CPAS offers long-term model validation experiment services such as daily run of 168-hour forecasts with initial condition supplied by GFS.
The simulation uses configurations completely specified by the customer, which includes the mesh and namelist parameter settings for MPAS-A.
3. CLIMATE MODELLING
MPAS-A simulation with customized mesh and hierarchical time-stepping may be used in climate modeling, in which specific analysis data is used as the initial condition. In general, such reanalysis data may not be readily available in CPAS platform and the namelist parameters may also need specialization. Please contact our service team for specific requirements.
4. MESH DESIGN
ClusterTech has rich experience in designing highly variable-resolution meshes for different forecasting and modeling needs. For different time horizons of forecast, physical variables as prediction targets, geographic characteristics, computation resource budgets, etc, customized meshes can meet your requirements more efficiently. We will work with you to develop bespoke custom meshes.
